West Point Society, Pikes Peak Region Kickoff Event
for 2008-2009 will be the Affirmation Ceremony for the visiting USMA Exchange
Cadets. We will have 12 cadets from West Point spending their fall semester at
USAFA. The cadets arrive 2 August, classes start 7 August.
The cadets will take their affirmation oath administered by LTG Glenn Webster,
USMA '74, Deputy NORTHCOM Commander at USAFA on Friday, 15 August at 1700 hours
at Arnold Hall, USAFA. Following the affirmation, the Society is invited to a
FREE pizza and soda reception at Vicenzos at The Place Restaurant at 1830
hours. Please save the date and invite your fellow classmates and friends to
join us.
Directions to Arnold Hall: Take I-25 to exit 156,
US Air Force Academy Northgate. Continue on Northgate Boulevard past the
B-52. Northgate Boulevard changes to Academy Drive and bends around the
Athletic Fields. Turn right unto Cadet Drive just before you reach the
USAFA Visitor’s Center. Park in the parking lot just before the security
checkpoint and walk to Arnold Hall.
Directions to “Vincenzo’s at The Place”: From
I-25 Exit 156, take North Gate Road to the first light. Turn north on
Struthers Road and proceed to the stop sign. Turn east on Gleneagle Drive;
“Vincenzo’s” will be on your right.

Reminder that
the Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) holds a "Welcome home" social specifically
for wounded warriors the 3rd Thursday of each month at the Fort Carson's
Extreme pizza. The event is scheduled for 1600 hours and all are welcome to
attend. This is an opportunity to thank soldiers for their service and
extend friendship across the ranks and the years.

Effective Wednesday, 7 May, BizNet
will be meeting down town at Pikes Perk, 14 S. Tejon
(west side of Tejon between Pikes Peak and Colorado).
We are told that at 0700-0800, parking
down town is free. You can either find street parking or
use the public lot behind (west) Pikes Perk. The lot is
east of Cascade between Pikes Peak and Colorado. Parking
lot entrance is just east of Cascade on Pikes Peak. |
